LONDON, UK, 24 May 2012 – The service assurance market generated USD2.55 billion in revenue in 2011, up 7% from USD2.4 billion in 2010, according to global telecoms, media and technology (TMT) specialist Analysys Mason’s latest report, Service assurance systems: worldwide market shares 2011.
“The technology upgrade cycle is having a positive impact on the service assurance market,” says Patrick Kelly, Research Director at Analysys Mason and co-author of the report. “This is not unusual – assurance investments typically follow network investments by approximately one year. Real-time network monitoring and analytics will have a positive impact on the service assurance market during the next three years.”
The market is becoming more consolidated; the top-six suppliers accounted for 53% of revenue in 2011, and the top-three accounted for 35% of the market. Tektronix is the largest supplier in the service assurance market with a 13.7% market share. IBM, JDS Uniphase, HP, CA and Telcordia Technologies follow with 13.6%, 7.4%, 7.2%, 6.0% and 4.6% respectively.
“Tektronix’s market share increased because it continued to expand and won many multi-year deals each worth USD10 million with Tier 1 mobile CSPs that are upgrading 3G/4G technology,” says Kelly, who also leads Analysys Mason’s Service Assurance research programme.
The report, Service assurance systems: worldwide market shares 2011, is available to purchase online for USD7999. For further information and to buy the report, please visit: www.analysysmason.com/SA-shares-2012.
