The ability to transmit and access live pictures and video can significantly influence and improve the way we live and work. Advances in digitalised technology can now offer the highest precision and resolution. Controlware's solutions are designed for easy of use and based on standard components for access via different networks. They are fully compliant to the international ITU-T standard H.320, and can be connected to nearly all video peripherals such as video monitors, video recorders or video printers.
The ability to transmit and access live pictures and video can significantly influence and improve the way we live and work. There is a need for video surveillance and security solutions that not only offer improved security services through the supervision of remote sites, events or people from literally any desired location in the world, but also for a wide range of non-security application areas such as: · Public/urban security; · Commercial and private security; · Medical supervision; · Teaching; and, · Tourism. In addition, the digitalized technology has advanced more and more in order to offer the highest precision and resolution for users in order to satisfy the most complex surveillance and security needs. Owing to this complexity, the security solutions must be designed easy-to-use, and based on standard components for access via different networks. Range of Multimedia Adapters To monitor sites, events or people, Controlware offers a range of multimedia adapters that transmit pictures and live video with the highest resolution from up to 6 connected cameras via Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), Local Area Network (LAN), Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), modem or Global system for Mobile Communications (GSM) to a dedicated supervision and management location. Alternatively an ISDN camera that integrates multimedia adapter and camera in single unit is available. Reception, display, analysis and storage of still and live video images can be performed from a central PC at a control centre that has been equipped with our multi- media software decoders. Site maps give a clear overview of surveyed locations and remote cameras or multimedia adapters can be contacted simply per mouse click. Video images can be displayed and analysed at any time. The multimedia modems are ideally suited for a large range of applications and offer the users a variety of possibilities for video on demand. This regards not only the security demand but also any application where live video insight leads to added value and savings. Remote site monitoring is performed via up to six cameras connected to a Controlware remote device, that continuously verifies the camera's video input signals. When the specified level of motion is exceeded, the remote device triggers an alarm and automatically transmits live, full colour video and audio signals via the public ISDN network to the control centre. In addition to ISDN, connectivity via LAN (TCP/IP), modem or GSM networks yields an alternative wherever ISDN is not available or serves as a backup communication path. The distance between the camera and the control centre is not limited to the same site but can be extended worldwide. The high resolution of NetCam1, NetCam6, NetCamPlus devices (up to 704x576 pixels) and a high video frame rate (max. 25 frames per second) to transmit the video images satisfy even the most stringent requirements as imposed by security and remote surveillance applications. With the ability to separate images into 242 sensitive areas, not even the slightest change remains undetected. In order to satisfy the growing demand for video surveillance solutions for home users, VICO, the video alarm system enables the connection of up to six cameras with a resolution of 352x288 pixel. This is the best resolution to transmit moving video images. Equipped with a variety of features such as visual alarm verification, and optional hard disk for long term recordings, the solution is ideally suited where surveillance over any distance, any desired location, and off-line analysis is required. VideoJet is the last development in Controlware's product range. All TCP/IP networks can now be accessed with a maximum video transmission rate of 1 Mbit/s to deliver live pictures with a high-quality image resolution of up to 352 x 288 pixels. This transmission rate can be increased via Ethernet up to 2 Mbit/s. VideoJet can also be used for X.21 leased line applications and bi-directional audio transmission. The full potential of the Controlware remote devices is unleashed in combination with the PROVILook software, which provides full control of a wide range of cameras and the simultaneous display of up to four video images. Conclusion In addition, Controlware's solutions are fully compliant to the international lTU-T standard H.320. Compared to other products that still use the non-standardised J-PEG technology, H.320 is to be seen as a superior advantage. Controlware's H.320 solutions are non- proprietary and can be connected to nearly all video peripherals such as video monitors, video recorders or video printers.
