Connect-World Widgets
In computer software, a ‘widget engine’ is a host software system for physically inspired applets on the desktop (desktop widgets).

Originally, desk accessories were developed to provide a small degree of multitasking, but when real multitasking OSes became available, these were replaced by normal applications. However, the widget model is attractive because of ease of development. Most widgets can be created with a few images using from less than ten to several hundred lines of XML/JavaScript/VBScript, depending on their complexity.
Downloading a widget
To download a widget to your desktop, you will have to first download SpringWidgets. To download a customised CW widget, select Options and the menu on the right should pop up. Select Customise Widget, which will tranfer you to a page where you can create a customised widget to email to a friend add to webpages, blogs and social networks (Google, MySpace, Xanga).
