MERA Systems

Telestream Opts For Mvts Ii And Becomes Mera Systems Official Reseller

MERA Systems announces today that one of the largest retail providers in South Africa selects MERA VoIP Softswitch II to use it at the core of its VoIP network, and becomes MERA Systems reseller.

As an international calling provider in South Africa, Telestream offers both retail and wholesale VoIP services. It has searched for a carrier grade solution for business that was reliable, scalable, easy to operate and cost effective. MERA Systems reputation in the softswitch and sbc market, that is paramount to any business, made MVTS II an easy choice for Telestream, since it catered for all these needs and exceeded all expectations.

The scalability and reliability of MVTS II combined with the LCR and LAR capabilities were the most business-critical features that made Telestream opt in favor of MVTS II and use it as a centre point of the VoIP network. The distributed architecture and licensing also aided the business case as the company have 2 PoP's in South Africa and one in the UK, which can all run off the same license "pool" and act as one large scale solution, even though they are geographically far apart.

"MVTS II has become an integral part of the Telestream network and will continue to be at the core in all future expansions," says Shaazim Khamissa, the Director of Telestream, "The ease of doing business as well as the reliability and availability of the support engineers have ensured that all our business needs are addressed in the shortest possible time. This is a big issue with a lot of vendors where support is concerned, but with MERA that's always a pleasure."

Telestream is not only committed to keeping MVTS II as its softswitching solution but also investigates various business models with IP Centrex platform. Recently the companies have signed an agreement that proved that Telestream has become an official reseller of MERA Systems in South Africa.

"The cooperation with MERA Systems based on the proven experience with MERA solutions allows Telestream to be quite confident about the products we are going to resell," emphasizes Shaazim Khamissa,"It is clear that MERA VoIP solutions will continue to be flagships on the market and we are excited to promote them in South Africa."

"Since becoming MERA Systems customer, Telestream has built a very strong working relationship with MERA Systems sales and support teams," adds Konstantin Nikashov, CEO of MERA Systems, "The very fact that Telestream will act as a reseller of MERA Systems products in South Africa shows a joint commitment of both companies to each businesses and products involved."
